A woman discovers her passion in the face of overwhelming racial, economic and social pressures to submit to spinsterhood.  In 1905 New York City, Esther's life as a lingerie maker for the rich is severely limited until she gives flight to the dream of love. The unexpected consequences break her heart but not her spirit.
